What is this for?
That item is AXEON M-100 Membrane Preservative, Part #206722, 4 lb. It is not a membrane cleaner and not an operating chemical. Its purpose is to preserve RO/NF/UF membranes when a system is shut down or the membrane elements are being stored.
The main problem it solves is microbiological growth during periods when water is stagnant inside the membrane elements. If an RO system sits idle for an extended period, bacteria and other microorganisms can grow inside the elements and potentially foul or damage them. M-100 is mixed into a storage solution and left inside the membrane vessels so the membranes remain protected until the system is restarted.
